Structural Features

Core Structure: Mainly composed of a valve body, ball, valve seat, valve stem, and a driving device (mostly manual or hydraulic drive).
Sealing Design: Adopts a metal hard-sealing structure. The sealing surfaces of the ball and valve seat undergo hardening treatment (such as surfacing with cemented carbide), featuring high hardness and strong wear resistance, which can withstand high pressure and the scouring of particle-containing media.
Lock Hopper Adaptability: The flow channel of the valve body is designed to adapt to the working conditions of lock hopper systems. It usually has a large flow capacity to reduce medium retention in the valve and avoid blockage.

Working Principle

The driving device drives the valve stem to rotate the ball, realizing the opening and closing of the valve:
  • When opened, the through-hole of the ball aligns with the flow channel of the valve body, allowing media in the lock hopper (such as ash slag, ore slurry, etc.) to pass through;
  • When closed, the ball fits tightly with the valve seat, and the metal hard-sealing structure blocks the flow of media, ensuring stable pressure inside the lock hopper.

Performance Characteristics

  • High Pressure and Wear Resistance: Adapts to the high-pressure environment of lock hopper systems (usually up to several megapascals or more), and can withstand long-term scouring of solid particle-containing media, with a long service life.
  • Reliable Sealing: The metal hard-sealing structure can maintain good sealing performance under high temperature, high pressure, and harsh medium conditions, preventing leakage.
  • Anti-clogging: The smooth flow channel design reduces medium retention, lowers the risk of blockage, and is suitable for conveying particle-containing media such as ash slurry and slag.

Application Fields

Mainly used in lock hopper systems in industries such as coal chemical industry, metallurgy, and environmental protection. For example:
  • In the ash lock hopper and slag lock hopper systems of gasifiers in the coal chemical industry, it is used to control the discharge and isolation of ash and slag;
  • In the ore slurry lock hopper and waste residue treatment systems in the metallurgical industry, it realizes the cut off and conveying control of solid-liquid mixed media.
