Structural Composition

Valve Body: The outer shell of the ball valve, usually made of materials such as carbon steel and stainless steel, which has good strength and corrosion resistance.
Ball: A key component of the ball valve. The ball is equipped with a channel that cooperates with the internal channel of the valve body to form different fluid flow directions.
Valve Stem: Connects the ball and the pneumatic actuator, and its movement controls the rotation of the ball.
Sealing Gasket: Usually made of materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which has good sealing performance and wear resistance, and can effectively prevent fluid leakage.
Pneumatic Actuator: Composed of a cylinder, air source connector, air source filter, electromagnetic directional valve, etc. It controls the movement of the valve stem through gas pressure to realize the rotation of the ball.

Working Principle

Shunting Working State: When the pneumatic actuator is in the closed state, the valve is in the shunting working state. At this time, the inlet is connected to port A, port A and port B are isolated from each other, and port B is connected to the outlet. The fluid flows into the valve body from the inlet; part of the fluid flows to port A through the through-hole of the ball, and the other part flows around the ball to port B, and finally converges to the outlet.
Confluence Working State: When the pneumatic actuator is in the open state, the valve is in the confluence working state. At this time, the inlet is connected to port A, port B is connected to the outlet, and port A is connected to port B. The fluid flows into the valve body from the inlet; part of the fluid flows to port A and port B through the through-hole of the ball, and then both flow to the outlet.

Types

  • L-type Pneumatic Three-way Ball Valve: Used for switching the flow direction of the medium, and can connect two mutually perpendicular channels.
  • T-type Pneumatic Three-way Ball Valve: Suitable for medium shunting, confluence or flow direction switching, and can make three channels connected to each other or two of them connected.

Application Fields

  • Oil and Gas Field: Widely used in oil extraction, oil refining, natural gas transportation and other links to control the shunting, confluence and direction change of media.
  • Chemical Industry: Used in high-risk scenarios such as reactor material switching and catalyst circulation systems, as well as flow control under conditions involving corrosive media, high temperature and high pressure.
  • Power Sector: Concentrated in key nodes such as thermal power desulfurization systems and nuclear power plant cooling loops, and also used in fluid control of steam-water systems and water supply and drainage systems in thermal power, hydropower and nuclear power projects.
  • Municipal Engineering Field: Its penetration rate in the flow control system of sewage treatment plants has exceeded 60%, and it is also applied in intelligent transformation projects of underground pipe corridors.
